The Streaming Services Your Favourite TV Shows Are Heading To
1. The Morning Show, See & For All Mankind
And finally, we come to Apple TV Plus, the most unknown of unknown quantities, which is leading with original content and will beat Disney+ to the market, beat them on price and have the added bonus of offering a free year-long subscription to anyone who buys a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod Touch device.
Like Amazon Prime, Apple TV Plus is a bonus membership system more than a traditional streaming platform. It is designed to incentivise people to buy Apple products and then get a subscription. The focus is on hardware rather than content, but with so much money to throw around - again, like Amazon - the company can make incredibly high-gloss shows with some really great talent (like The Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon or Jason Momoa's See.
They're not really looking to compete with Netflix and the others - at least not yet - on syndicated streaming, though and they're the easiest pick-up of all of the services at just $4.99.
There, got all that? Good indication of where your favourites will stream? It's all a lot to take in, admittedly, but that should help.
At least all of this means we're probably going to get a price war that drives the cost down and we can probably pick up more than one subscription service. If only there was like a platform that could combine all of these shows, perhaps separated by channels that we could pay a monthly subscription price to. It could be transmitted into home using some sort of rudimentary cable system, or something for ease...
Nah, that would be ridiculous.
