Star Trek is a big, big franchise.
Since Gene Roddenberry brought The Original Series to TV screens way back in 1966, we've seen 13 movies, 9 television spinoffs with at least 3 more on the way, thousands of conventions, multiple fan wars over what constitutes "real" Star Trek, and years upon years of footage to draw from. It never really ends.
It goes without saying that if you were to sit down and watch every existing Star Trek production from start to finish, not only would another few spinoffs have already begun, but you'd be a great deal closer to the invention of warp drive by the time you were even close to done.
Every new show brought (and continues to bring) a new cast, a new crew, and strange new worlds filled with additions to Roddenberry's ever-expanding tapestry. There's something for everyone, from bluesy Andorians and wildly varied Hyoo-mons all the way to cold, logical Vulcans and plenty more, before and after. And make no mistake - all of them had a lot to say.
What this means is that being able to identify a Star Trek character from a single quote would give a pretty good indication that you could easily rival Lieutenant Commander Data when it comes to memory. Engage!
