The Umbrella Academy: Everything You Need To Know

Number One is Luther aka Spaceboy. Upstanding to a fault, Luther always tries to do the right thing, even if that means putting others before himself. He is a resilient workaholic who has been groomed to lead The Umbrella Academy from a young age.

This member of The Umbrella Academy has super-strength and excels at everything he tries. This includes aviation and marksmanship so naturally, Sir Reginald Hargreaves would name him as his favorite. He is fully aware of the fact that he is good at everything he tries and is not shy about it.

But The Monocle’s Golden Child suffers a terrible accident on an expedition to Mars and Spaceboy must get a new body. His head is transplanted onto the body of a Martian gorilla.

As an adult, he spends most of his time on the Moon, on the watch for potential world-ending threats, alone except for his robot assistant Ben.

Luther will be played by Tom Hopper, who has some solid TV credibility going into his new role on the Netflix adaptation. Fans will recognize him from Black Sails, Game of Thrones, and Merlin, making him a solid choice for the role.
