The Umbrella Academy TV Show: 7 Things Netflix Must Get Right

1. Character Design

The comic is beautifully drawn. The Brazilian artist has this unique style, which allows him to create quirky characters and incredible destruction, while remaining true to the action-fun mood of the series. Hopefully he's brought in as a consultant to discuss the costumes and settings.

It must be said that Way is a talented comic book artist as well. His sketches and ideas, enclosed at the back of both issues, show how he arrived at certain ideas and how the characters actually came to be.

He designed the characters in a very interesting way, so that their personalities could be reflected in the way they looked or dressed. Each has a distinctive feature, which either gives away his/her main power or does the opposite, like in the case of Number Five, who is basically a ten year old dressed in a school uniform.
