The show premiered in 2009 and explored the complex relationship between handsome brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore and their shared love for the same woman, Elena Gilbert.
They all lived in Mystic Falls: a small town bursting at the seams with supernatural creatures. Damon, the main antagonist on the show was a complex character that audiences either loved or hated. However, after he fell in love with his brother's girlfriend, he gradually became less of a villain and more of a supporter.
Seeing Damon grow throughout the series was magnificent. From loving Elena to loving his brother and friends, Damon started out as a selfish guy but ended up sacrificing his happiness for decades to save his loved ones. Aww!
