The Walking Dead: 10 Important Characters Who Aren’t In The Comics

1. Daryl

Daryl Dixon doesn't exist in the comic book world of The Walking Dead, and that's part of the reason why he's such an exciting character. His storyline could go in any direction without source material influence, and the creators are free to move him around any way they like. Again, his bond with Beth was interesting to follow, but rogue, lone wolf Daryl is often when his best scenes come. He's a walker killing machine and his crossbow has become an iconic weapon of choice; the Indiana Jones whip of The Walking Dead. The crossbow is treated as if it were another character. The weapon does feature in the comics in the hands of a villain yet to be introduced to the show, meaning the creators clearly felt it was too useful (and downright cool) to omit from the story in the hands of a true hero. 'If Daryl dies, we riot.'
