3. Beth

Beth was a divisive character, with many fans eager to see her bumped off early on, though when her tragic death came, it was actually met with sadness from the majority. She was finally starting to grow into the series rather than just plough on, screaming, as the damsel in distress, but she was rash in the end and took an accidental bullet to the head. Hershel had other children who were focused on in the comic series, and of course Maggie is still going strong on both platforms, but Beth was a TV-only creation and her 'will they, won't they?' friendship with Daryl was enough to justify her inclusion to the storyline.
