5. Carol

Mid-season 5: Carol warily entered Alexandria, uncertain of what to find. It's understandable that she was untrusting of the residents despite them being largely harmless. Mid-season 6: We didn't think Carol could become any more of a badass... Then she dressed up as a wolf, splattered a W on her forehead in blood, and went on a spree to protect her people. It didn't take long for Carol to get into her groove, tormenting little Sam to prevent him from spilling the secret of them taking guns from the armoury. I'd happily argue that Carol has grown the most out of anyone in the entire series. She started as one of the most vulnerable individuals, but now she's made the toughest decisions out of anyone by far. She's always developing, always improving, always giving us reasons to believe she's an incredible character.
