The Walking Dead: 10 Outrageous Comic Moments That Won't Be Used

6. Hand It To Rick

In the comics, The Governor sent a huge message of intent when he cut off the hand of The Walking Dead’s de-facto hero Rick Grimes, a sign that truly no one was really safe in this world.

On the show, however, Rick still very much has both of his hands, and the Governor is long gone. It is still possible that they could work this fairly major plot point into the series though, as any of the upcoming big bads could be the one to chop off his hand, or he could cut it off himself if it were bitten by a walker.

At this stage, though, with Rick being so established as the main character, it seems unlikely they’d give him such a handicap. This isn’t Game of Thrones and he isn’t a Lannister, so it’s not like he could just have a new gold one crafted. They’d have to continually make sure you couldn’t see Andrew Lincoln’s hand, posing a challenge to the make-up and effects team and the actor as well, and one that unfortunately may not be deemed worthwhile now.
