Advertising and trailers can always promote a message that isn't even there if it needs to. And that's why The Walking Dead's promotional material should be taken with a pinch of salt. It's all been fairly vague, with themes rather than plot-points being picked out. The bold use of the original group standing opposite the Alexandria group spearheaded by Rick on one side, and Morgan on the other would heavily suggest there's going to be definitive conflict. There will be boiled-over tensions, of course, but Rick and Morgan respect each other enough to talk things out, so don't be surprised if the civil war storyline is a red herring. If it does turn out to be the actual plot, then it could make way for the anticipated character cull.
