The Walking Dead: 10 Things To Expect When Season 9 Returns

The survivors have dealt with their fair share of herds over the years. It only makes sense that Walkers will accumulate en masse over time and make their way to Alexandria or another place people are living.

As time passed, Rick and the gang learned to steer then away from town through tactics already seen on the show, but the addition of the Whisperers make these tactics all but impossible.

In "Evolution," the walkers were seen to move away from Daryl's distraction and move towards the others in a way that left disbelief and shock on his face. Expect to see more of that when the series returns, but on a much larger scale.

In the comics, Alpha shows Rick the threat she can bring in the form of a horde consisting of thousands of the dead. She had gathered them into an area and corralled them for use later against whatever threat she perceived. This was a horde nobody could possibly sway, which convinced Rick to return to his home, but later in the books, that very horde is turned on Alexandria and the results were devastating.
