The Walking Dead: 10 Worst Things Negan Has Ever Done
4. Taking So Long To Kill Alpha
Honestly, actually killing Alpha was one of the best things Negan ever did. Unfortunately, it's slightly sullied by the fact that it took him so damn long to do.
He integrates himself into the Whisperer group, becomes a top follower of Alpha, and pledges himself to her and the Whisperer way of life. This may have all been a clever rouse to get close to the mask wearing leader, but along the way he puts Gamma (Thora Birch) in danger by ousting her as a traitor, joins the Whisperers to attack Hilltop, and finds himself liking the very person he's been sent to kill.
His connection to Alpha reminds Negan of how things used to be when he was in charge of the Saviors, and he later admits to Daryl that he took so long to do it because he liked it - he liked the power, he liked Alpha and how she worked.
There were plenty of opportunities for him to kill Alpha, but he never took them, leading to a slew of unnecessary deaths before he finally did the deed.
