7. Crew Cameos

As well as celebrity cameos like Scott Ian and Dian Bachar, the show also regularly gives Walker duties out to production members. Special effects guru Greg Nicotero, who trained under Tom Savini, and who worked on Frank Darabont's The Green Mile, will be known to Walking Dead fans as part of the show's make-up team, but he also played two Walkers in the first season - first biting Andrea's sister Amy, and then eating the deer when Daryl Dixon makes his first appearance in the season. Apparently Nicotero was given the responsibility of biting Amy because he knew exactly where to bite. He's not the only special effects worker who has appeared in the show, as make-up artist Brain Keith Hillard, who helped turn Anthony Hopkins into Alfred Hitchcock for Hitchcock, also appeared as the memorably Well Walker in the second season. Meanwhile, Alphonse A. Lambert Jr. a carpenter who worked on the Teen Wolf TV show, Alexyz Danine Kemp a costume assistant on Parental Guidance, and Joe Giles, the special effects moldmaking guru who has widely worked on genre movies including Piranha 3D, Drag Me To Hell and Tron: Legacy have all been Walkers in the show.
