The uneasy, yet largely civilised, community of Alexandria was a welcome change of scenery, and a great location for a variety of storylines to explode, but The Walking Dead never lets its characters settle for long, even after Noah's warming breakfast chat about the future with Reg. The show opened up Noah to a whole new path as an aspiring-architect to defend the walls, but no sooner had his ambitions been made known, he was subjected to one of the most harrowing deaths in Walking Dead history, which is a remarkable achievement considering Deanna's son, Aiden, had been impaled and eaten alive in the very same episode. As the episode rumbled towards the close, Glenn, the cowardly Nicholas and Noah all fall into a revolving door set-piece with walkers ready to feed on whichever section opened to them. Nicholas bailed on attempts to free all three members, and Noah paid the heavy price, being ripped back into the hoard, thrown up against the glass pane, and having his face literally torn off. The episode served as a stark reminder that no matter how many foundations are laid, disaster can strike at any second, something that Rick tried to drill into the naive group cowering behind the walls.
