The Walking Dead: 5 Best And 5 Worst Changes From The Comics

3. Michonne's Introduction

G3 Michonne Seeing as Hershel€™s family was still steadily ruined (I feel so sorry for Hershel, in both the show and comics), but in a much different way to the comic run, the introduction of Michonne had to be changed as well. We first meet Michonne in volume four of the books, saving Otis from outside the prison and she is accepted into the group before she begins her love affair with Tyreese. In the show we see her at the end of season two, saving Andrea after the farm has fallen to walkers. The show€™s introduction is better in a few ways. First of all, she appears to save Andrea and immediately forms an alliance with her, which is more believable than her being instantly accepted into the larger group which is what happened in the comics (helped by the fact that when Michonne does reach the prison in the TV show, Rick is extremely apprehensive of her). Then you consider that she€™s introduced and stays outside of the main group, which allows for something the second season severely lacked, a change of situation whereas the comic series saw her integrate directly into the main group of survivors. Season two saw us with the same group of people with the same aim each week. First everyone wanted to help save Carl. Then everyone looked for Sophia. Michonne€™s introduction is a breath of fresh air, made even better by it coming in the season finale as fans could ponder just who she was a full year before finding out what she was capable of (which turned out to be a hell of a lot). This ties in with the next best change made...
