Finally standing up to The Governor in the third season finale, Miltons bravery led to his former leader stabbing him and leaving him to die in a locked room with a restrained Andrea, an undeserved sick fate delivered to him by someone he had once called a friend.

The Episode: Welcome to the Tombs
Though she spent much of the third season attempting to carry on Dales pacifist ideals in trying to mend fences between the prison and Woodbury, Andreas attempts failed and The Governor left her to be eaten by Milton.
Having been a large part of the series, love her or hate her, the loss of an original character coupled with the dissolution of her potential still managed to sting.
