The Walking Dead: 8 Huge Questions The Movies Must Answer

5. What's The Meaning Of 'A' And 'B'?

For some time now, we've been hearing and seeing the letters 'A' and 'B' throughout The Walking Dead, either put in the background of shots or explicitly said aloud, with What Comes After giving us the biggest clue yet as to what they might mean. Earlier in the episode, Anne has promised to bring an A with her, but when she finds Rick, she instead tells them she never had an A, but does have a B.

That's despite Rick previously being classified as an A, while Gabriel was thought to be a B, but Anne then said he was an A when he refused to go willingly. Rick's change, then, might confirm that Bs are those who aren't going to cause trouble and will go willingly, and As don't comply.

We know that the letters correspond to the human trading network the helicopter people have going on, but there's supposedly a "vast mythology" behind that, and the movie needs to confirm just what A and B means and how long this has been going on for.
