11. A Certain Doom
The original season finale, A Certain Doom brings the Whisperer War to an epic but not quite flawless conclusion. As Beta brings his horde down on the communities, the survivors launch a daring assault to take it and its leader down from the inside.
With stunning set pieces and awesome scope, the episode makes for a phenomenal spectacle, and the tension that arises from the group's attempts to walk through the horde is staggering. Likewise, Beta's death at the hands of Daryl is both rewarding and haunting in its execution.
Granted, there could have been more death (Beta's the only major character to bite the dust) and Carol and Lydia's team-up is both safe and almost cheesy, but the scale and intensity of A Certain Doom still makes it a worthy conclusion to the war.
