The Walking Dead Season 6: 10 Things Episode 2 Got Right

8. The Casserole

Okay, so this wasn't just a case of me watching the show on an empty stomach (because that casserole DID look good) but it's something that The Walking Dead does brilliantly, contrasting insane drama with something as painfully average as removing food from the oven. The action is over-and-done in the time it takes to cook the casserole, the same time period that Carol's transformation from efficient mother to blood-soaked assassin is completed, but more on her later. The Walking Dead always seeks to stress that this is the way the world is now and invaders won't wait around for you to finish eating. Killing is now as 'everyday' as cooking.
