The Walking Dead: Season 6 Comic-Con Trailer Breakdown

25. The Walker(s)

A very brief shot of someone wandering alone down a deserted Alexandria street, slightly reminiscent of the opening shots of Rick running (it could certainly be the same road, even though Rick appears a little more outside the town). Again it shows a character - it looks like it could be Morgan? - in isolation within Alexandria, which may be an indication of a possible theme of the show. There's quite a lot of survivors in the town, so where are they all in this shot?
It's almost a minute into the trailer before we get our first look at the walkers, but when they do arrive there are lots of them. In fact, Scott Gimple stated at Comic-Con that the first episode of season 6 would have the most walkers of any episode of the show so far, with over 600 extras. That could be part of what we're seeing here. Rick, on side of the wall surrounding Alexandria, fires his gun into the air, thus drawing the zombies towards him from the other side, and they duly arrive en masse. It's well-established that gunfire is going to draw the attention of the walkers, so clearly Rick has a reason for firing here and bringing them towards him. Is he being the hero here, and distracting the walkers so others can get to safety?
