The Walking Dead Season 7: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After 'The Well'

8. Is Benjamin Destined To Die?

The Walking Dead Ezekiel Carol
Gene Page/AMC

Of the new characters introduced at the Kingdom, it's Benjamin (outside of the King himself) who gets the strongest arc, and that's something that should continue going forwards.

Ben's father was one of the Kingdom's greatest fighters before his death, meaning that Ezekiel feels some sort of loyalty towards Ben and wants him to became as vital a part of the community as his dad.

There's a chance we'll get to learn more about his father's death, as I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out it happened in a fight against the Saviours (and/or to save Ezekiel).

It also means that the show is probably setting Ben up for something of a fall. He's being trained by Morgan, being given some characterisation without being a lead, is set to go from a bit useless to skilled fighter... yeah, Ben's gonna die this year, isn't he?
