The Walking Dead Season 7: 4 Ups & 5 Downs From 'Service'
4. Hammering Home The Point...Again
Negan has broken Rick.
We know this because the premiere spent a good chunk of time going over and over this point, really driving it home. And then this episode spends much of its extended run time going over the same ground.
Fair play to Andrew Lincoln, he does a great job of playing Rick as he goes from cowering fear to almost boiling over with rage, just holding enough back so Negan doesn't snap. But while he deserves credit, it doesn't make the repeated close-ups of his face we get throughout the episode any better.
The show maybe could've worked this better if we cared about any of the Alexandrians outside of Rick, but since the majority of them are either off elsewhere, dead, or barely even characters, the focus once again falls on him.
