5. What Affect Will The Deaths Ultimately Have?

The double-kill happened to provide a shock in the season premiere (and make up for keeping fans waiting), but the true impact of them will be seen over time.

That's in particular the case for the narrative, as we see what the world is like without Abraham and Glenn, and just how much their deaths affect the show and its characters.

Obviously we know Maggie is going to be hugely changed, although we don't know how just yet (it seems likely she'll grow into a leadership role though). Sasha, too, will have a very personal reaction, given her relationship with Abraham. Again, though, we don't know how that's going to play out.

As for the rest of them, they were all connected in one way or another to the deceased, but how much of an impact it'll have, and whether it'll give them any new storylines or characterisation, remains to be seen.
