3. The 'Rotting' Title

Over the course of the opening six seasons, The Walking Dead's iconic title has gradually deteriorated, from a relatively shiny, clean logo to a decomposing, distorted one. Season 7 has continued that trend.

On face value it's plain to see that it is representing how far society has crumbled, remaining bright spots in the world are being extinguished, and the whole show is growing darker, but is there another way of over-thinking about the title sequence?

The walkers are becoming increasingly rotten with the earliest undead losing slabs of flesh peeling away from their bones. Are the walkers growing weaker? Is that even possible? The show is going strong into the seventh season but there still has to be an end-point and could the demise of the walkers be one possible way to set up a frantic final season of rebuilding society?
