The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere: 6 Things You Definitely Missed
3. The Episode Title Comes From A Forgotten Season One Character
While The Walking Dead's Season 7 premiere will simply go down as 'the one with the bat', the show's creators enjoy dishing out some cryptic episode titles, this being no exception. 'The Day Will Come When You Won't Be' sounded ominous, but it's actually a throwback to the beginning of the show.
Remember Dr. Edward Jenner? No? He was the scientist in Season 1 at the CDC who blew up the facility with himself inside it. He told Rick: "The day will come when you won't be" and it's certainly no coincidence that the line reappeared.
The whole point of Jenner's speech was saying that a tragic day will come when Rick regrets his decision to leave the CDC and not go down in flames early on. This is that day. Despite Lori's death and the countless other tragedies he has suffered, Glenn and Abraham's savage death day may well be his worst.
