The Walking Dead Season 8: 4 Ups And 4 Downs From 'Monsters'

2. Rick And Daryl (Again)

Rick and Daryl aren't paired up anywhere near enough, so it was a real highlight when the two went on a mission together in The Damned. That concluded with Morales holding Rick at gunpoint, but the show quickly gets back to the dynamic duo together.

No matter how much the show tries to make us care about the more secondary characters, it's the likes of Rick and Daryl who are the heart of the series (both a blessing and a curse, really), and having them together only heightens the fun of watching them.

Not only does it provide some moments of badassery and tension, but it also hints at an interesting conflict between the two: a Rick who is trying to be better than Negan, and the cold ruthlessness of Daryl after what he suffered at the Sanctuary, with strong work from stalwarts Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus, both of whom have been on top form this season even when other elements haven't matched-up.
