The Walking Dead Season 8: 5 Ups And 4 Downs From 'The Damned'
3. Eric's Death
Although unconfirmed, it seems pretty likely that Eric has met his end here, in a move that anyone who has read the comics will have seen coming. In truth, though, it doesn't really matter if you've read the source material or not, because this moment is signposted heavier than Terminus.
Whenever a minor player starts getting more screen time it's an indicator they're about to be killed, so with Eric leading the charge against the Saviours' compound there are clear warning signs for the character's fate.
The show tries to sell it as a shocking moment, and Aaron does a good job of conveying those emotions, but their relationship has been largely underdeveloped and Eric especially given so little screentime that it doesn't carry the necessary level of impact (if he does die, that is, and if he doesn't then the moment is perhaps even more wasted).
