The Walking Dead Season 9: 2 Ups & 3 Downs From ‘Omega’

1. Again With The Conveniences

While Adaptation fell in short in several areas, one of its biggest issues were undoubtedly the sheer amount of plot conveniences that plagued the episode. Unfortunately, these issues aren't simply resigned to Adaptation, as they arise in Omega also.

At one stage, Daryl offers Lydia some pills, and this in itself raises a whole bunch of plotting issues. For one, Lydia is never officially diagnosed - a fact that is later confirmed when she's shocked to hear that Hilltop has a doctor - so therefore, how could Daryl know what medication to prescribe her? Moreover, what if she was allergic to some of the ingredients in the pills?

Even if you manage to forgive all of these gaping holes, it's impossible to ignore the fact that these pills would've likely lost their effectiveness considering how many years have now passed since the world fell apart.

On a similar note, it's pretty funny that, during the flashback narrative, one of the survivors had written the number of days that had passed since the apocalypse begin. Bit convenient? Yes, the writing is - quite literally - on the wall.
