The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs From "The Last Time"

9. Down: Improbable Moments Of Survival

The Ones Who Live
AMC

This is such a minor gripe that bringing it up may seem superfluous, but even by The Walking Dead standards, the things Rick and Michonne survive in this episode are insane

Through the years, Rick has been stabbed, shot, beaten half to death (more than once a season at the show's height) and even blown up, and "The Last Time" seems to be paying unintentional homage to his immortality by having all of this happen to him in the space of one hour.

Intent on dismantling the CRM, he bands with Michonne to blow the place sky high, only for the pair to get caught in the explosion but emerge unscathed. During this, Rick is overwhelmed by walkers - there's at least twenty on him at one point, and even Michonne is sure he's gone - but again, he's totally fine.

Obviously, we wouldn't have come this far for either of these characters to die or even be massively wounded, but the extent of their survival this time around is hard to look past.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
