One thing the show is being forced to address is the alien colonization/conspiracy storyline, and for good reason. According to the original series, colonization was set to begin in 2012 - and, of course, we've now eclipsed that date. From the previews, it's clear the world is not under alien control, and so Chris Carter and company will have to explain why. Serving as bookends to the shortened season, the first and final episodes - My Struggle, and My Struggle, Part 2 - will set out to address this. It's these two hours that may very well wrap up nine seasons of mythology in a way that the hastily put together original series finale The Truth could not. Lets hope the show gets it right this time.
