The X-Files: Every Season 10 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

2. Home Again

No, Home Again wasn't a direct sequel to season four's ever-popular Home, but it was nonetheless a standout episode of the season and a great episode of the series overall. The Band-Aid Nose Man was an effective monster of the week, bringing with him a perfect level of creepiness and a satisfying dash of brutality, and the all-too-brief sequence of Mulder and Scully looking for the Trashman with various tulpas lurking in the darkness around them was fittingly tense. Like Founder's Mutation, though, the X-File itself slotted nicely into the story of Scully being forced to deal with the passing away of her mother, the longtime estrangement of her youngest brother, and the resulting grief over William that the situation helped bubble to the surface. Take away all the bloodshed being caused by the Band-Aid Nose Man and the episode still stands as a great showcase for Scully and, eventually, Mulder, whose flashbacks to being at her bedside long ago and modern-day presence for her when she needs him went a long way in reminding us all just how far these two have come and that - even if they may not be "together" at the moment - they'll always have each other.
