9. John Finlay
Joe Exotic's husband and one of the key workers at the GW Park, John Finlay was one of the show's less dangerous, more honest figures. By the end of the documentary however, it was shown that John was on the road to moving on from his time with the Tiger King.
It turned out that John wasn't gay after all and that he had been having a relationship with one of the park's staff whilst he was still married to Joe. The two moved away from the park and one of the interviews with John shows him having his tattoo of Joe's name removed.
Speaking about the documentary, John said: “They made me look like a drugged-out hillbilly. They never showed the real new-and-improved me. They showed me getting a tattoo covered up but that was all they showed of me after that. I’m waiting to get my story out to be able to sit down with a producer or a reporter to actually get the whole story out and to really let the world know what my life was actually like.”
Since the show, John has continued living out with his partner, has a whole new set of teeth, has been six year sober and is enjoying a much quieter life than his days at the park.
His tattoo is also finished.
