Titans TV Show: 10 DC Heroes Who Could Appear

2. Blue Beetle

Young Jaime Reyes is the third person to take on the Blue Beetle persona, but is substantially different from his predecessors Ted Kord and Dan Garret. Reyes is an Hispanic teen who finds a mystical alien scarab, that grafts itself to his spine. The scarab can manifest a number of powers by its own volition, and communicates with Reyes through an antennae. Over time, Reyes learns to control the scarab as he asserts himself and becomes a better hero. When Reyes is in danger, the scarab creates a high-tech armored suit around his body for protection. When in use, the suit re-configures itself into a wide array of weapons, such as an energy cannon, sword and shield, grappling hook, powerful blades, and wings that give Reyes the ability to fly. Blue Beetle is a character just dying for live-action adaptation, and almost received his own series a few years ago. That never materialized, however, so perhaps a recurring role on Titans is the next best thing. Reyes' age makes him perfect for the team, while his personality and ethnicity offer opportunities for a bit of diversity among the rest of the heroes.
