True Detective Season 2: 10 Rumours You Need To Know

2. Or Maybe Just One

Another of the more, ahem, interesting names rumoured to be in consideration for helming some of the second season's episodes is one Justin Lin. As in, the Justin Lin whose filmography includes the distinctly un-True Detective likes of several Fast And Furious films and a handful of episodes of quirky sitcom Community. Which we do love, just in a different way to the grittily realistic and atmospheric look of True Detective. Still, maybe this is another shift pertaining to the change in location €“ moody Louisiana swapped for glitzy, Hollywood California €“ so we're willing to give it a punt. Especially if the conflicting rumours about how many episodes Lin could be directing turn out to be true. Whilst there were early reports that the second season of True Detective would be directed by a bunch of different cinematic powerhouses, the Lin rumours come alongside the suggestion that he might be handling the whole run. Apparently he's in talks to direct €œat least€ the first two episodes, which means he could potentially take on more. We really don't have any concrete info about this next run of the show besides the little titbits that Pizzolatto has deigned worthy of sharing with us, so there's every chance that this season could have a single director again, and that that director could be Justin Lin. The guy who did a bunch of Fast And Furious films. Eek?
