After a solid start to last week€™s opening installment, this second helping struggles to find its footing but still manages to be very entertaining. A guilt ridden Matt tries to give Sean a expensive car to make up for sleeping with Beverly, despite his many attempts to give him the gift Sean keeps refusing. This leads to an emotional plea from Matt to try and save his bromance with Sean. Meanwhile Beverly had no issues in accepting the car Matt bought for her, but she remains unaware of Sean€™s evening with the leading lady. Their sitcom Pucks has suffered a ratings drop, and head of the studio Merc is already thinking about pulling the plug. The lurking sub story of Sean and Beverly€™s failing marriage could engulf a lesser series, but thankfully the emphasis on bittersweet is at the forefront and Le Blanc and Mangan make for an unexpectedly brilliant double act. Matt LeBlanc may never get to grace the boards of the west end as Hamlet or Jean Valjean and it€™s fair to say he has a limited range as an actor. Whilst he may only have the one card to play, when the material is good it gives the actor formerly known as Joey the chance to play one hell of a hand. It€™s occasionally difficult to fully like this version of Matt LeBlanc, he€™s a sex obsessed, self obsessed actor who wouldn€™t think twice about sleeping with another man€™s blind wife. However, co-creator and writer David Crane gives LeBlanc just enough humanity that the audience can€™t fully despise him. As well put together as it is, they could do with increasing the laughs as this should have been funnier in places. Episodes continues Friday at 10pm
