Twin Peaks: 10 Characters That Must Return For Season 3
3. Bob
Bob may be the scariest person/creature/monster in the history of TV and film. That just needed to be said. As stated earlier, Frank Silva, the actor who played Bob passed away nearly 20 years ago. In the vast majority of other shows, this would be a huge problem. But this is Twin Peaks, a show that cast the same actress to play cousins. David Lynch films almost always have the issue of identity as a central theme, so he could easily cast someone else in the role. Perhaps Ray Wise? Bob is essentially a spirit, so the actor wouldnt even have to resemble the original Bob. It is unfortunate, though, as Silva created some of the most terrifying moments in the entirety of the show. Originally, he was just a set dresser until he accidentally ended up on camera in a shot on the pilot. Lynch being Lynch decided to keep him in and basically created a character from there. A bizarre happenstance, but it worked out wonderfully. Unless theyre going for a completely different show, Bob has to come back. He appeared to be involved in the memorable final shot after he had taken control of Dale Cooper (unless it was the doppelganger Cooper) and rammed his head into the mirror. Can anyone possibly stop him?
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
