If you're still mourning the loss of Netflix's Marvel TV shows, then your pain is certainly understandable. Although some of them weren't the greatest, fans still got incredible seasons of Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones.

However, just because the relationship between Netflix and Marvel isn't a thing anymore, that doesn't mean the streaming service is suddenly pulling themselves out of the comic book TV adaptation business. In fact, their latest series, The Umbrella Academy, is just as good - if not better - than anything Marvel has ever produced TV wise.

Created by Gerard Way (the former lead singer of emo favourites My Chemical Romance) and Gabriel Ba, The Umbrella Academy is about a dysfunctional superhero family who reunite following the mysterious death of their adoptive father.

Despite having superpowers that make them exceptionally powerful individuals, their deep-rooted personal issues and sibling beef usually stops them from being the heroes that they should be.

With a series that's stacked with memorable and incredible moments, it's painstaking to single out the best one, but we've managed to select the few times The Umbrella Academy truly stood out amongst everything else to show how special it actually is.

14. Introducing The Umbrella Academy

Before they became the poster children for a dysfunctional family, The Umbrella Academy were a crime-fighting team akin to the X-Men. While we get a brief glimpse at some of the team in action early on, this flashback really gives viewers a far better idea of what each member can actually do.

From super strength and teleportation to tentacles ravaging multiple bad guys, the pre-teen team take down a group of bank robbers in impressive fashion. While it's awesome to watch them batter a bunch of baddies around, this specific moment is the catalyst for so much of the show's storylines.

From the introduction of Ben, the deceased brother of the team, to showing how Sir Reginald Hargreeves presented the group to the world, yet kept Vanya away because she wasn't "special", this sets up a lot of plot points that are explored in far more detail further along in the series.
