15. Halfdan The Black
In the show, Halfdan is Harald Finehair's brother. They travel and fight together, with Halfdan helping Harald to amass a large kingdom.
Harald Finehair is based on Harald Fairhair, however there are no sources that mention that he had any siblings who were alive when he tried to create his kingdom. His father, though, was named Halfdan the Black.
He was the king of a small part of Norway and ambitiously added as much territory to his lands as was possible. Halfdan died while Harald was young, so before he started on his quest to unite Norway. However, the fictional character seems to be based on the real-life Halfdan the Black.
