The Walking Dead: 8 Songs That Really Set The Mood

1. 'Be Not So Fearful' - A.C. Newman

Season 4, Episode 15 - Us The entire second half of the season has been leading to this moment. The first group arrive at the apparently placid sanctuary Terminus and are greeted by a welcoming lady called Mary. The song itself seems to reflect the hardships that the group has had to go through recently. The destruction of the prison has made them fearful of what lies ahead. People don't know what to expect. Would Glenn find Maggie alive and well? Will Sasha be able to find Tyreese? The future is the unknown at present. Yet the song attempts to abate their fears. As the survivors enter this supposed safe haven littered with sunflowers and parasols, the lyrics tell them that 'someone watches you, you will not leave the rails'. The entire song sets the mood for a relaxing, well-earned rest for our heroes. 'Be Not So Fearful' seems to be primarily trying to tell the protagonists to leave behind their mistakes and their fears as now they've found a new guiding path. However, at the same time, the song contributes heavily to the potentially sinister undertone that Terminus has. It sets the mood up for a smokescreen, and almost adds to the overdone sense of safety and security. What is truly behind the doors at Terminus? What is Mary hiding? The protagonists will need to watch their backs, though, if the song is anything to go by, they won't have to. Someone already will be, be that a good thing or not.
