The Walking Dead Season 4: 6 Things That Will Happen Next

5. Carl and Rick's Relationship Will Be Tested Further

From what little fans have seen of the second half of season 4, it looks like Rick will be in a bit of a bad way from the wound he sustained at the hands of the Governor. Prior to his hand-to-hand encounter with the Governor, it's important to remember that he was wounded in the leg from a gunshot. This can only mean more tests for Carl as he has to step up and try to take care of his dad. What will Rick's state be like as a result of that bullet wound? After all, this world isn't exactly known for its hygiene and sanitation, so Rick could possibly be on the receiving end of a rather nasty infection. There's no denying that the relationship between Carl and Rick has been a constant push and pull. Carl is forced to grow up in a world where moral decisions are difficult to make during a zombie apocalypse while Rick is constantly battling with how much to expose his son to. This will be a reoccurring theme throughout the course of the show as Rick struggles to let go as a father and look at his son as a fighter and a man, rather than a helpless child.
