2. The Scarlet Witch Title

It's still a little unclear exactly what the title of 'Scarlet Witch' means within the MCU.

In the comics it’s a title given to her mother and passed on to her, simple- but here it’s worth noting the concept we looked at last week about Nexus beings.

She’s called ‘the’ Scarlet witch not ‘a’ Scarlet witch. Has Agatha got some previous knowledge of the Scarlet Witch as a concept? As a legend? This has made some people hop back on the Multiverse theory hype, especially given Agatha’s mention again of fake Pietro, Fietro if you will. It’s not necromancy, she says as much- but what the hell is a crystalline possession and why does it look like Evan Peters?

When we go to Wanda’s infinity stone flashback, as she gets blasted we see what appears to be a silhouette of the Scarlet Witch we know and love, and a matching reflection in her eyes. Some are asking if in this moment she’s encountering herself as a Nexus being, looking on at her origins from way in the future or another time and place.

But we still don’t know essentially what Agatha wants out of all of this. Is it purely for her own ambition or is there something deeper?

We’ve already established that she has the necronomicon and that she is a knowledgeable, powerful witch who was drawn to the residual energy of Westview’s re-creation. But what is her endgame?
