WandaVision Finale - 8 MASSIVE Easter Eggs, References And Secrets, Explained

6. White Vision's Fate

WandaVision White Vision
Marvel Studios

White Vision's appearance at the end of WandaVision's eighth episode was a bit of a shock (especially for me, because I missed it like a great big dummy), and the character ends up being a highlight of the finale.

Apart from that terrifying introduction where he nearly cracks Wanda's skull like an eighties-era Michael Myers, White Vision also engages in combat with Wanda's own Vision, until the latter realises his only chance to beat him is with words and not violence.

Red and green Vision is able to break through to his corrupted counterpart by questioning the logic of the android's programming, which leads White Vision to exit Poochie-style rather than to continue fighting.

It's unclear, currently, whether or not White Vision decided to terminate himself after realising that he himself was partially the original Vision, or if he just decided things had gotten too heavy and that he had to work things out. If it's the latter, then there may actually be a chance that the Avengers could get the original Vision back, as the Vision we all know and love was able to unlock the android's memories.

This is actually what happened in the comics too, during the Vision Quest storyline from John Byrne. That arc also featured an ice-white and emotionless Vision returning, only for his memories and emotions to later be restored and for him to get his old paint job back, leaving the door open for Paul Bettany's android to make an actual return in the future..

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
