Westworld Season 2: 10 Biggest Twists, Theories & Questions From 'Reunion'
9. More Timelines Introduced
After keeping viewers guessing last season, the Season 2 premiere was relatively easy to follow in terms of timelines. We had the scene with Arnold and Dolores roughly 30 years ago, all the stuff with Wyatt/Old William/Maeve/Bernard and Charlotte in the immediate aftermath of the massacre, and then Bernard and Delos security in the present, which is two weeks on from that. This week adds a few more wrinkles.
The opening scene takes place before Westworld has even opened, with Arnold and Robert trying to shop their idea around, with Logan taking a keen interest in the idea. Since this is likely before the park has opened properly, it's about 35 years ago.
Later we see William committing to investing in the park, and convincing James Delos of why it's worthwhile, which must come after he's had his first adventure there and fallen for Dolores, so around 30 years ago.
A few years after that - let's say roughly five - there's James Delos' retirement party, which is due to his failing health. Another few years on, and William is showing Dolores the answer to a question that no one ever asked.
Then we have the near present storylines that we witnessed last week, with Maeve's mission, Dolores' vengeance, and Old William's game. Nice and easy, then.
