What Marvel's Jessica Jones Cast Look Like In The Comics
8. Karl Malus
In The Comics:
An archetypical mad scientist, Karlin Malus was fascinated by the super people of the Marvel universe and studied them at length, hoping to gain insight on their powers. He first played a major role in Spider-Woman, providing weaponized toxins and chemicals to existing supervillains, and would later be known for his illegal human experiments and the creation of addictive drugs that induced some form of super-power. He would eventually be involved in the creation of Superior Carnage, a dangerous symbiote hybrid.
In The TV Series:
A doctor involved with IGH, Karl Malus was able to genetically engineer cures to seemingly uncurable ailments, even bringing the recently dead back to life, through illegal human experimentation. Though his intentions were largely pure, the side effect which provided super-powers to his patients resulted in much more harm and death than he intended. He went into hiding with one of his patients, Alisa Jones, but would eventually commit suicide when he realises just how much destruction his 'life-saving' experiments have caused in the long run. He's portrayed as less the stereotypical mad doctor, and more an outdated genius of the 70's and 80's, by actor Callum Keith Rennie of Battlestar Galactica fame.
