Hubert Smithers (often referred to simply as Smithers) is the Lodge family's heavyset, balding butler. A running gag in the comics involves Smithers throwing Archie out of the Lodge household à la Uncle Phil and Jazz from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
In The Show
Smithers, who now appears older, but slimmer and with a head of gray hair, still serves as the Lodge family's butler (but dresses more like a chauffeur). He often offers advice to Veronica and is shown to distrust Hiram.
