What To Expect In The Umbrella Academy Season 2
2. Luther Spirals Into Depression
Luther has a lot to deal with coming out of season one, to say the absolute least. He lost his adoptive father and mentor, his robo-mother died (though she was repaired by Pogo), and then he watched his life-long friend be murdered by his sister. The fallout of the latter death has yet to be told, but it's likely to be the final straw for the Moon Man.
The first we see of Number One in the Dallas arc is during the aftermath of the apocalypse. Refusing to let go of his past, he sets up in the basement of the ruined Academy. Unable to deal with his emotions, the only thing the former leader seems to be interested in anymore is eating and watching TV. This leads to Diego taking up the leadership role, causing even more arguments between the two brothers.
It's only when contacted by Seance - who has been captured and tortured by Hazel and Cha-Cha - that Luther finally moves. The story of Klaus's capture has already been told in season one however, so expect something new to motivate the half-ape hero to get back into the action.
