8. Joe Meets His Match With Love
Joe thinks he really understands women and that he’s such an incredibly ally, which gives his character a huge sense of entitlement. He also believes himself to be better than everyone as exhibited throughout Season 1 when he’s judging the New York lifestyle, along with Beck and all of her friends.
Joe was able to really manipulate and control Beck in Season 1 with his faux charming personality. But in Hidden Bodies, Joe meets his match with Love (The Haunting of Hill House's Victoria Pedretti). She’s an heiress to her parents’ grocery store fortune, making her feel confident and secure in herself, unlike Beck who was struggling.
Love also stands up for what she believes in. She’s headstrong and doesn’t back down when Joe bullies her. This proves as quite a challenge to Joe who is a control freak and plans his relationships out by controlling who he’s with.
It would be fantastic to watch the power dynamic shift sometimes, so it’s vital that Love remains a headstrong character. It’ll also be great to see someone on screen who isn’t as vapid as Beck’s character was. We need someone to challenge Joe.
