You was a Lifetime series that took its time in getting going and had to change networks to really be appreciated, however, once it caught on, it took off. Once Netflix picked up the distribution rights to the show, it became a hit.

The tale of a master manipulator and killer, Joe Goldberg was fascinating and, at times, bitterly unnerving. The way in which he operated, the manner in which he justified his actions, everything was deeply wrong with Joe - but for whatever reason, nobody could stop watching.

He is totally intoxicating, his reasoning for doing the terrible things that he does is horribly flawed but also understandable to an extent. The way in which Joe lures in his prey is so similar to the way the show lures in the audience, you know what is coming can't be good but you can't turn away.

It's this quality that made You a hit once it found its rightful home in Netflix, who bought the series outright from Lifetime after the success of the first season on their platform.
