Created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman, American Dad! premiered in February 2005 following the Super Bowl, and has recently aired its 19th season. Pretty impressive, right?

The shows main focus is on the Smith family who live in a small town in Virginia. Stan is the head of the family and is a CIA agent. His wife Francine is a stay at home mum to Hayley and Steve. Also living in the house is the family's pet goldfish, Klaus, who was once an East German Olympic ski-jumper. And how could we forget about Roger, an alien who escaped Area 51. Sounds like a pretty normal family!

While American Dad! is often overshadowed by MacFarlane's other animated baby, Family Guy, it's definitely a brilliant show and deserves much more recognition.
