10 Former MMA Stars Who Have Surprisingly Normal Jobs

3. Tim Sylvia - Project Manager

During the mid-2000s Tim Sylvia was one of the most feared men in the UFC heavyweight division.

Standing six feet eight inches and possessing one of the most potent jabs in the history of the 265lbs division, Sylvia racked up several big wins en route to twice winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Sylvia would leave the promotion in 2008 to secure a super-fight with the then pound-for-pound number one fighter in the world Fedor Emelianenko though he would ultimately be submitted in the first round.

Sylvia would continue his career outside of the UFC with mixed success before retiring in 2015.

In the years since retiring from competing in the cage, Sylvia has worked part-time as a police officer in the state of Illinois while also serving as an assistant coach for the wrestling team at his son's high school.

Sylvia is also an avid hunter and serves as the host of the Hit Squad Outdoors tv show. Though the former UFC champion's primary profession these days is as a project manager for a roofing company.
